COLUMBIA, S.C. – September 16, 2011 – Otis Elevator Company, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX), announced today that it is opening a new manufacturing center in Florence, South Carolina. The new facility will consolidate much of Otis’ North American new equipment operations and will bring more than 360 jobs to South Carolina.

(ICI), a manufacturer of advanced materials, today announced that the company will establish its new production facility in Orangeburg County. The $9.3 million investment is expected to generate 300 new jobs over the next five years.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – August 3, 2011 – Gov. Nikki Haley, the South Carolina Department of Commerce and BMW today announced that the company will further increase its workforce in South Carolina, creating 100 new jobs at the Spartanburg plant. The company is also creating two new workforce programs at the facility along with the additional jobs. Harald Krueger, BMW Group Board Member responsible for Human Resources, confirmed the company's intention to hire 100 professional employees.

Nikki Haley, the South Carolina Department of Commerce, Berkeley County and the Charleston Regional Development Alliance today announced that Tire International (TRIE: OTC Markets), a tire recycler and maker of rubber products, is establishing a new recycling and manufacturing facility in Berkeley County. The $25 million investment is expected to generate 150 new jobs.Tire International has established a third-generation recycling and manufacturing operation in Moncks Corner.
