COLUMBIA, S.C. – April 13, 2011 – Gov. Nikki Haley, the South Carolina Department of Commerce and the Union County Development Board today announced that ESAB Welding & Cutting Products will open a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Union County.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – April 8, 2011 – Gov. Nikki Haley, the South Carolina Department of Commerce and the Lowcountry Economic Alliance today announced that Be Green Packaging LLC, a manufacturer of “green” packaging, will locate its new manufacturing and distribution facility in Jasper County. The company plans to invest at least $7.3 million and expects to generate at least 175 new jobs over the next five years, with the potential of more jobs and investment added during that time.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – PA Solutions, a full-service automation controls engineering company, is constructing a new facility in Greenville County. The development will result in $65,000 in new capital investment and create 40 new jobs.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – era-contact USA, a global manufacturing leader of electrical railway couplings, is launching its North American manufacturing headquarters in Pickens County. The new development will bring $3.6 million in investment and lead to the creation of 45 new jobs.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The South Carolina Department of Commerce announced thyssenkrupp Industrial Services, a full-service provider of customized product management solutions, is establishing operations in Charleston County. The new development is expected to create 32 new jobs and bring significant new investment.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Sioux Chief Manufacturing, a leading manufacturer of rough plumbing fixtures, is establishing operations in Cherokee County. The new development is expected to bring $2.5 million of new capital investment and lead to the creation of 77 new jobs. An affiliated Sioux Chief Company, Tribal Manufacturing, will run the operation.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – J&L Wire, headquartered in St. Paul, Minn., has announced the establishment of its first South Carolina operations. The company is opening a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in the former Press Printing building in Colleton County. Located at 387 Mable T. Willis Boulevard in Walterboro, S.C., the 31,000-square-foot facility is situated on 5.1 acres. The company is investing $2.5 million in the project, which is expected to create 50 new jobs.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Zero Connect, an assembler and distributor of fiber optic and copper cables, is establishing operations in Pickens County. The new development will create 72 new jobs and lead to an investment of more than $1.3 million.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – ChartSpan Medical Technologies, Inc., a healthcare data company, is establishing operations in downtown Greenville, S.C. The development is expected to bring $3.2 million in capital investment and lead to the creation of 300 new jobs.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – United Phosphorus, Inc. (UPI), a manufacturing company specializing in chemical blending operations, plans to establish a new industrial operation in Williamsburg County. The company plans to invest more than $20 million in the project and create 65 new jobs over the next several years.
