COLUMBIA, S.C. – December 16, 2013 – STARTEK Inc., a global provider of business process outsourcing services, today announced plans to locate a new customer support center in the Myrtle Beach area. The company’s investment of $10 million is expected to create as many as 665 new jobs over a five-year period and result in an annual economic impact exceeding $45 million, according to studies by economists at Coastal Carolina University. 

COLUMBIA, S.C. – November 26, 2013 – Materials Sciences Corporation (MSC), a designer and manufacturer of composite materials and structures for government and industry, will establish a new manufacturing operation in Greenville County, investing $1 million and creating 23 new jobs.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – November 15, 2013 – Sweet Street Desserts, Inc., the Reading, Pa.-based leader in the gourmet dessert industry and champion of “sweet, indulgent desserts as a way of life,” today announced that it will establish a new manufacturing facility in Greenville, South Carolina. The investment is expected to generate at least 80 new jobs over the next several years. 

COLUMBIA, S.C. – November 1, 2013 – KI Logistics, a subsidiary of global logistics leader and innovator Kimura, Inc., today announced that it will establish its new North American headquarters and a major logistics facility at The Matrix Business and Technology Park in Greenville County. The $11.5 million investment is expected to generate as many as 149 new jobs over the next several years. 

COLUMBIA, S.C. – October 28, 2013 – American Tactical Imports (ATI), a worldwide importer of firearms, ammunition and tactical equipment to the United States, announced today that it will open a warehousing and distribution location in Dorchester County. The Eastport Industrial Park location in Summerville also will be the site for limited firearm assembly, as well as the company’s headquarters, its customer service center and its sales office. The $2.7 million investment is expected to generate 117 new jobs. 

Charleston, SC – October 8, 2013 – Palmetto Railways, formerly South Carolina Public Railways, today announced the purchase of the remaining 50 acres of what is known as the Noisette property on the former Navy Base. “As a public entity, Palmetto Railways has a vested interest in ascertaining the best and highest use of the former Noisette property not only for North Charleston but for the state as a whole,” said Jeff McWhorter, president and CEO of Palmetto Railways.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – October 7, 2013 – Colgate-Palmolive Company is investing $196 million to establish a new production facility in an existing 525,000 square foot building in Greenwood County. The plant is expected to begin operations in 2014 and will generate 300 new jobs.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – September 25, 2013 – JN Fibers Inc., a manufacturer of recycled polyester staple fiber products, is establishing a new manufacturing facility in Chester County. The $45 million investment is expected to generate 318 new jobs.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – September 13, 2013 – Associated Hardwoods, a lumber products company, today announced plans to locate its new facility in Cherokee County. The more than $9.8 million investment is expected to generate 28 new jobs.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – August 22, 2013 – Element Electronics, a maker of consumer electronics, today announced plans to establish its new manufacturing facility in Fairfield County. The $7.5 million investment is expected to generate 500 new jobs.
