The investment is expected to generate at least 80 new jobs over the next several years.
KI Logistics locating new operations at Greenville County’s Matrix Technology Park
COLUMBIA, S.C. – November 1, 2013 – KI Logistics, a subsidiary of global logistics leader and innovator Kimura, Inc., today announced that it will establish its new North American headquarters and a major logistics facility at The Matrix Business and Technology Park in Greenville County. The $11.5 million investment is expected to generate as many as 149 new jobs over the next several years.
American Tactical Imports establishing operations in Summerville
COLUMBIA, S.C. – October 28, 2013 – American Tactical Imports (ATI), a worldwide importer of firearms, ammunition and tactical equipment to the United States, announced today that it will open a warehousing and distribution location in Dorchester County. The Eastport Industrial Park location in Summerville also will be the site for limited firearm assembly, as well as the company’s headquarters, its customer service center and its sales office. The $2.7 million investment is expected to generate 117 new jobs.
Palmetto Railways Acquires Additional Noisette Property

Colgate-Palmolive Company establishing new facility in Greenwood County
COLUMBIA, S.C. – October 7, 2013 – Colgate-Palmolive Company is investing $196 million to establish a new production facility in an existing 525,000 square foot building in Greenwood County. The plant is expected to begin operations in 2014 and will generate 300 new jobs.

JN Fibers Inc. locating facility in Chester County
COLUMBIA, S.C. – September 25, 2013 – JN Fibers Inc., a manufacturer of recycled polyester staple fiber products, is establishing a new manufacturing facility in Chester County. The $45 million investment is expected to generate 318 new jobs.
Associated Hardwoods locating new facility in Cherokee County
COLUMBIA, S.C. – September 13, 2013 – Associated Hardwoods, a lumber products company, today announced plans to locate its new facility in Cherokee County. The more than $9.8 million investment is expected to generate 28 new jobs.
Element Electronics establishing new television production facility in Fairfield County
COLUMBIA, S.C. – August 22, 2013 – Element Electronics, a maker of consumer electronics, today announced plans to establish its new manufacturing facility in Fairfield County. The $7.5 million investment is expected to generate 500 new jobs.
Volvo Cars selects South Carolina for first American plant
COLUMBIA, S.C. – Volvo Car Corporation has selected Berkeley County, South Carolina for its first manufacturing facility in the Western hemisphere. The new $500 million factory highlights the attraction of the United States as a location for high-technology manufacturing. The plant is expected to create 2,000 new jobs over the next decade and up to 4,000 jobs by 2030.
Orchids Paper Products Company establishing operations in Barnwell County
