Highland Baking Company locating in Spartanburg County

COLUMBIA, S.C. – February 2, 2012 – Highland Baking Company, a wholesale bread baking company, today announced plans to locate its new production facility in Spartanburg County. The $9.48 million investment is expected to generate 196 new jobs over the next five years.

“We look forward to opening our new facility in South Carolina. This is an important step in our company’s growth. Spartanburg County is a great fit for our business and offers a business-friendly climate and excellent market access,” said Stuart Rosen, vice president of Highland Baking Company.

Amazon Announces New Facility in Spartanburg County, South Carolina

Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN) today announced plans to open a new fulfillment center in Spartanburg County, South Carolina. The facility will create hundreds of new full time jobs and involve a $50 million investment in the state.

“South Carolina has been a great home for us and we’re excited to create hundreds of additional jobs in the state,” said Dave Clark, vice president, Amazon Global Customer Fulfillment. “We had a great first holiday season in Lexington County and we look forward to serving our customers from both Lexington and Spartanburg Counties by the fall.”

Uniscite Inc. Announces New Operations in Laurens County

COLUMBIA, S.C. – January 31, 2012 – Uniscite Inc., a maker of plastic films, today announced plans to develop its operations in Laurens County. The $70 million investment is expected to generate up to 100 new jobs.

Poly-America establishing South Carolina operations

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Poly-America, one of the largest polyethylene film manufacturers in the U.S., is establishing South Carolina operations with Carolina Poly, Inc. in Chester County. The company is investing $100 million in the new facility, creating 300 new jobs in Chester, S.C.

Established in 1976 and headquartered in Grand Prairie, Texas, Poly-America and its affiliated entities produce several product lines, including trash bags, plastic sheeting, silage bags andshrink film.
