Uniscite Inc. Announces New Operations in Laurens County

COLUMBIA, S.C. – January 31, 2012 – Uniscite Inc., a maker of plastic films, today announced plans to develop its operations in Laurens County. The $70 million investment is expected to generate up to 100 new jobs.

Toray Extends Comprehensive Agreement with Boeing to Supply Carbon Fiber TORAYCA® Prepreg

COLUMBIA, S.C. - Toray Industries, Inc. today announced it has signed a comprehensive long-term agreement with The Boeing Company to supply carbon fiber TORAYCA® prepreg for the production of the new Boeing 777X aircraft, extending the existing supply agreement for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The new agreement extends the comprehensive agreement that was signed in November 2005 by more than 10 years from this year. The total value of prepreg Toray Group will supply for both 787 and 777X programs for the contract period is expected to exceed $11 billion.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Lakeside Steel and Machine, Inc., a firm that specializes in heavy steel and metal fabrication, is expanding its existing Anderson County operations. The company is investing $2.5 million in the project, creating 13 new jobs in Anderson, S.C. over the next five years.

Established in 1985, Lakeside Steel and Machine is a family-owned firm, specializing in heavy steel fabrication, critical engineering and problem solving, CNC machining and general welding and machining. The company serves customers across the Southeastern United States.

Precision Metal Fabricators expanding Barnwell County operations

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Precision Metal Fabricators, Inc., a firm that specializes in the manufacturing of metal and fabricated metal products, is expanding its existing Barnwell County operations. The company is investing $500,000 to relocate to a larger facility, creating 19 new jobs in Williston, S.C over the next five years.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Poly-America, one of the largest polyethylene film manufacturers in the U.S., is establishing South Carolina operations with Carolina Poly, Inc. in Chester County. The company is investing $100 million in the new facility, creating 300 new jobs in Chester, S.C.

Established in 1976 and headquartered in Grand Prairie, Texas, Poly-America and its affiliated entities produce several product lines, including trash bags, plastic sheeting, silage bags andshrink film.

COLUMBIA, S.C.AstenJohnson, Inc., a global leader in the production of press fabrics, is expanding its existing Laurens County manufacturing facility, which is located at 400 Asten Road in Clinton, S.C. The company is planning to invest $32 million on new equipment in the next five years, with the largest purchase being a new needle loom in 2016.
