Highland Industries, Inc. expanding in Chesterfield County

COLUMBIA, S.C. – December 30, 2013 – Due to increased customer demand, Highland Industries, Inc. announced today the expansion of its industrial and textile facility in Cheraw. The $4.1 million investment is expected to generate 24 new jobs over the next two years.

Quality Model expanding operations in Orangeburg County

Canfor Southern Pine to expand Darlington lumber facility

COLUMBIA, S.C. – December 18, 2013 – Due to increased global demand for southern yellow pine lumber, Canfor Southern Pine is expanding its existing operations in Darlington County. The $8 million investment is expected to generate 50 new jobs through the addition of a second shift at the manufacturing facility.

Flame Spray expanding Laurens County manufacturing operation

COLUMBIA, S.C. – December 11, 2013 – Thermal spray coating manufacturer Flame Spray North America, Inc. is expanding its existing manufacturing facility in Laurens County, essentially doubling its operation in the Woodfield Industrial Park. The company plans to invest another $9.1 million and create 45 new jobs.

Ulbrich Precision Flat Wire expanding in Oconee County

COLUMBIA, S.C. – December 9, 2013 – Ulbrich Precision Flat Wire, Inc., a division of Ulbrich Stainless Steels and Special Metals, Inc., announces a $5 million dollar investment for the expansion of their Westminster, S.C., operations. The state-of-the-art wire rolling facility produces precision flat and fine wire products, as well as, photovoltaic ribbon used in the manufacture of solar modules. The Westminster plant also operates a focus factory dedicated to the research and development of new products and processes.

Materials Sciences Corp. to open new Greenville manufacturing facility

COLUMBIA, S.C. – November 7, 2013 – Fitesa Simpsonville, Inc., a global leader and innovator in the design and manufacture of nonwoven fabric solutions for the global hygiene market, will expand its existing facility in Greenville County to significantly increase production capacity for its spunmelt nonwoven hygiene products. The $50 million investment is expected to generate 32 new jobs.

Mergon Corporation expanding operations in Anderson County

COLUMBIA, S.C. – An international plastic blow molding and injection molding company is expanding its existing facility in Anderson County. 

Mergon Corporation, which specializes in supplying solutions and products to the automotive, industrial and healthcare markets, today announced that it will invest $4.4 million to expand its existing manufacturing facility in Anderson County, generating 22 new jobs in the area.

Palmetto Synthetics expanding operations in Williamsburg County
