COLUMBIA, S.C. - Due to increased demand for returnable packaging solutions, packIQ is expanding its existing operations in Anderson County. The $2.1 million investment is expected to generate 50 new jobs. The expansion will include a complete shipping rack fabrication facility with powder coat paint and polyurea coating systems.

Highland Industries, Inc. expanding in Chesterfield County

COLUMBIA, S.C. – December 30, 2013 – Due to increased customer demand, Highland Industries, Inc. announced today the expansion of its industrial and textile facility in Cheraw. The $4.1 million investment is expected to generate 24 new jobs over the next two years.

Quality Model expanding operations in Orangeburg County

Valley Forge Flag Company expanding operations in Williamsburg County

COLUMBIA, S.C. – December 20, 2013 – A U.S.-based, family-run flag manufacturer that has been in operation for more than 100 years is expanding its existing operations in Williamsburg County. Valley Forge Flag Company’s $2.5 million investment is expected to generate 100 new jobs for the area.

Advanced Composite Materials to expand Greenville County manufacturing operations

Canfor Southern Pine to expand Darlington lumber facility

COLUMBIA, S.C. – December 18, 2013 – Due to increased global demand for southern yellow pine lumber, Canfor Southern Pine is expanding its existing operations in Darlington County. The $8 million investment is expected to generate 50 new jobs through the addition of a second shift at the manufacturing facility.

Benefitfocus to expand headquarters’ campus in Berkeley County

COLUMBIA, S.C. – December 16, 2013 – Benefitfocus, Inc., a leading provider of cloud-based benefits software solutions, today announced that it will break ground on a building project that will expand the size of its technology campus on Daniel Island in Berkeley County from 13 acres to 40 acres. South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley will join Benefitfocus President and CEO Shawn Jenkins Tuesday for the ground-breaking ceremony and in announcing the anticipated creation of 1,200 new, high-tech jobs in South Carolina.

McCall Farms Inc. to expand canning operations in Florence County

Flame Spray expanding Laurens County manufacturing operation

COLUMBIA, S.C. – December 11, 2013 – Thermal spray coating manufacturer Flame Spray North America, Inc. is expanding its existing manufacturing facility in Laurens County, essentially doubling its operation in the Woodfield Industrial Park. The company plans to invest another $9.1 million and create 45 new jobs.

Belk Inc. expanding capacity of Union County e-commerce distribution center

COLUMBIA, S.C. – December 11, 2013 – Department store retailer Belk, Inc. has announced that it is expanding its e-commerce distribution and fulfillment center operations in Union County, S.C. The company spent $9 million to upfit additional space at the 500,000-square-foot Jonesville facility this year and plans to invest another $32 million next year to further increase the center’s capacity. Belk expects to add approximately 170 new jobs by the end of 2015 in addition to the 124 jobs announced last year.
