Pratt Industries expands Spartanburg County facility

COLUMBIA, S.C. – February 1, 2012 – Pratt Industries, a leading recycled paper and packaging company, today announced the opening of a new material recovery facility (MRF) in Spartanburg County. The $3.5 million investment is expected to generate 30 new jobs.                

Myles Cohen, president of Pratt Recycling, said the facility, located in Duncan, will service the recycling needs of businesses, cities and counties within a 100-mile radius.

AvCraft Technical Services Announces Expansion in Horry County

COLUMBIA, S.C. – December 29, 2011 – AvCraft Technical Services, an aircraft maintenance, repair and modification provider, today announced plans to expand its current operations in Horry County. The $1 million investment is expected to generate 150 new jobs.

“Location was a major factor in choosing to expand operations here. Myrtle Beach gives us a centralized location to most efficiently reach our customer base,” said Mike Hill, president of AvCraft. “Horry County officials and the Myrtle Beach Regional EDC made expanding here a very easy process.”

Time Warner Cable expanding operations in Lexington County

COLUMBIA, S.C. – January 4, 2013 – Time Warner Cable, a provider of cable television and Internet services, today announced plans to expand its operations in Lexington County. The $24 million investment is expected to generate 644 new jobs over the next year.

SPARC expanding operations, facility in Berkeley County

COLUMBIA, S.C. – December 21, 2012 – SPARC, a provider of information technology services, today announced plans to expand its existing facility and operations in Berkeley County. The more than $11 million investment is expected to generate 310 new jobs over the next four years.

General Information Services expanding Midlands operations

COLUMBIA, S.C.General Information Services, Inc. (GIS), one of the most experienced and largest background screening providers in the nation, is expanding its Midlands operations with a new facility in Richland County. The company is investing more than $2.7 million in the new facility, which will complement the firm’s existing Lexington County corporate headquarters. The expansion is expected to generate 91 new jobs over the next five years.

WYNIT Distribution expanding Upstate operations

COLUMBIA, S.C.WYNIT Distribution, LLC, a leading international wholesale distributor, will move its corporate headquarters and 111 jobs to downtown Greenville in 2016, creating a net of 75 new jobs in the Greenville area.

The globally-recognized consumer electronics and emerging technologies distributor will be moving to more than 57,000 square-feet of space on three floors at the One Building in the heart of downtown, starting in early spring 2016.
