CCL Label DES expanding Laurens County manufacturing facility

$30 million investment expected to result in 98 new jobs

COLUMBIA, S.C. – A world leader in the development of label and specialty packaging solutions for global producers of consumer brands is expanding its manufacturing operations in Laurens County. CCL Industries, Inc. is investing $30 million to expand its label division – CCL Label DES– in Clinton, S.C. The $30 million investment is expected to create 98 new jobs over the next five years.

CCL Label is the world’s largest converter of pressure-sensitive and extruded film materials for a wide range of decorative, instructional and functional applications for large global customers in the consumer packaging, healthcare, automotive and consumer durables markets. Additionally, CCL Label provides extruded & laminated plastic tubes, folded instructional leaflets, precision printed & die cut metal components with LED displays and other complementary products and services to specific end-use markets.

CCL Industries employs approximately 10,400 people and operates 99 production facilities in 28 countries on five continents with corporate offices in Toronto, Canada, and Framingham, Massachusetts. In 2013, CCL Industries acquired Avery Dennison’s (Avery) Office & Consumer Products and Designed & Engineered Solutions businesses. Avery is the world’s largest provider of labels, specialty converted media and software solutions to enable short run digital printing in businesses and homes alongside complementary office products sold through distributors and mass market retailers.

The Clinton, S.C. site supports customers globally with highly engineered component products and Industry award-winning printing for the electronics, automotive, consumer battery, and beverage markets. This Laurens County expansion will be the result of a 36,000-square footage addition to the company’s existing facility, located at 29485 Highway 76 East in Clinton. A majority of the construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2015.
