2AM Group locating new operations in Richland County

Initial $500,000 investment expected to create 100 new jobs

COLUMBIA, S.C. – 2AM Group, supplier of logistics, manufacturing and quality services to the automotive, aerospace and marine industries, is establishing its new production facility in Richland County. The $500,000 investment is expected to generate 100 new jobs over the next three years.

“We are overjoyed to have the opportunity to further expand our company in the state that’s been home to our headquarters since 2006,” said Artie Perry, president and CEO of 2AM Group. “South Carolina and its supportive governing officials have made all of our establishments and growth in the state very productive, and it’s extremely beneficial for us to continue to invest in the state. We look forward to adding these new jobs to our existing growth, and having the opportunity to bring citizens from the Columbia and Blythewood areas into the 2AM family.”

Headquartered in Spartanburg, 2AM’s Blythewood facility will be the company’s 11th overall location and the fifth in the state. Operations at the new facility, located at 110 Belk Court in Blythewood, began mid-August.

“While we work hard to attract new companies to South Carolina, it’s always exciting to see one of our existing companies choose to expand its footprint here. 2AM Group has several locations here, and the addition of the new Midlands facility proves the company’s commitment to our state. We celebrate 2AM Group’s decision to invest and create 100 new jobs in Blythewood,” said Gov. Nikki Haley.

Since January 2011, South Carolina has recruited more than $9 billion in capital investment and more than 26,000 jobs in the manufacturing sector.

“Today’s announcement provides another boost to our manufacturing sector. 2AM Group has found South Carolina to be just right for its operations, and these new jobs will have a positive impact in the Midlands and beyond,” said Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt.

Among 2AM Group’s many customers are BMW, Daimler Van, Honda, Hyundai and Mercedes Benz. The company has received multiple annual awards from customers for top performance, including “Best in the World” for warehouse management from BMW AG, and “Best in Customer Satisfaction” from BMW North America, for two years running.

“Richland County welcomes 2AM Group to our community and looks forward to working with the company as it begins its operations. As a premium technical service provider to the automotive industry, 2AM Group will enhance the County’s position as a great location for this manufacturing sector,” said Kelvin Washington, chairman of Richland County Council.

The company will begin hiring for the new positions immediately. Anyone interested in job opportunities with the company should visit the company’s careers webpage at www.2AMGroup.com.
