2017 SC Micro Enterprise Developers Conference

A micro-business is a small business having five or fewer employees. Micro-businesses add value to the economy by creating jobs, enhancing income and strengthening purchasing power. We seek to increase their impact.

This event is for the organizations that provide training, technical assistance, loans and other services directly to entrepreneurs. There will be training and networking opportunities for practitioners from financial institutions, government agencies and other business development entities.

Small and Minority Business Contracting and Certification Business Forum and Trade Fair

The South Carolina Office of Small and Minority Business Contracting and Certification (SMBCC) and the Division of Procurement Services of the South Carolina Fiscal Accountability Authority invite owners of small and minority businesses to the Annual Small and Minority Business Contracting and Certification Forum and Trade Fair.

2017 S.C. Aerospace Conference

The S.C. Aerospace Conference and Expo is designed to connect leaders from industry, academia and government to showcase the growing aerospace cluster in South Carolina. The event features a business and workforce development track, including a B2B matchmaking event, the ACE ‘17 Technical Symposium, an exhibit hall with company and student presentations and a variety of tours and workshops.

Salute to Small Business

The South Carolina Salute to Small Business is the Palmetto State’s annual National Small Business Week event. Now in its 13th year, the 2017 Salute will be held Wednesday, May 3, at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center in downtown Columbia.

City of Columbia Women's Business Opportunity Conference

The City of Columbia implemented a 10% DBE goal in 2015. This year, to help us reach this goal, the Office of Business Opportunities is hosting a Women’s Business Opportunity Conference on March 29, 2017 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. This conference will: (1) educate vendors on the purchasing process at the City, (2) provide vendors with the opportunity to meet with purchasers representing various city departments, and (3) hear from women owned businesses who have successfully obtained contracts with the city.

40th Annual SEUS-Japan Conference

Greenville, SC will host the 40th Annual Joint Meeting of the Southeast US/Japan and the Japan-US Southeast Associations (SEUS Japan). This prestigious gathering of global business leaders celebrates longstanding economic and cultural ties and offers delegates from Japan and seven southeastern US member states unparalleled opportunities to forge new ones.

Industry Appreciation Week Awards

Each year, SC Commerce joins local communities to thank businesses for their vital contributions to South Carolina’s economy during the state’s Industry Appreciation Week.  As part of the celebration, the state recognizes individuals throughout South Carolina as Ambassadors for Economic Development. These individuals include local leaders from the private sector, representing a variety of businesses committed to advancing their communities.
