The SC Department of Commerce is partnering with Van Hool to host a plastics supplier outreach event in Duncan. Based in Belgium, the company is building a vehicle manufacturing facility in Tennessee and is interested in broad regional sourcing for parts production. Specifically, Van Hool is seeking manufacturing techniques for the following:
- Sheet thermoforming
- Extrusion (plastic profiles)
- Glass reinforced plastic parts
- Dicyclopentadiene reaction injection molding
- Polyurethane compact foam

This full-day session will allow attendees to understand the Harmonized System and the Schedule B listing for exports. The program will review the six General Rules of Interpretation (GRI) used to classify every product.
The fifth annual SC Automotive B2B Supplier Matchmaker event is an opportunity for automotive suppliers to connect with original equipment manufacturers and tier one suppliers. The event will include a procument panel discussion, one-on-one meetings and access to the SC Automotive Summit opening reception.

The SC Department of Commerce is leading a trade mission to Canada. Companies that are approved to attend will have one-on-one meetings with prospective distributors, agents and partners which are tailored to their business and goals. This multi-sector trade mission is open to all companies within South Carolina.
On December 5-6, Greenville will once again host the annual VentureSouth Summit, bringing VentureSouth’s investor membership together for two days of education and networking. This year, through a partnership with Venture Carolina, the S.C. Department of Commerce and the South Carolina Research Authority (SCRA), the organization has expanded its entrepreneurship education being offered at the summit.
