The Ultimate Capital Workshop

The Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) Business Center – Columbia, SC in partnership with South Carolina Department of Commerce, will host The Ultimate Capital Workshop on February 27, 2020. The Ultimate Capital Workshop is geared to help small, women and minority-owned businesses build a solid financial infrastructure to better attain business funding.

The daylong event will take place at Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center, located at 1101 Lincoln Street in Columbia, SC. 

Incoterms 2020

With the latest version of incoterms coming into effect on January 1st, 2020, is your company prepared to start using them? If you haven’t been to an incoterms training recently, or at all, now would be a great time to catch up. This class will help you learn how to properly use these terms in a quotation, letters of credit, commercial invoices and more. 

S.C. International Trade Conference

The South Carolina International Trade Conference (SCITC) is an annual event that brings together leaders from the maritime industry and manufacturing to discuss updates and opportunities in the area of global trade. This year will be the 44th anniversary of the event, which is expected to draw approximately 450 attendees to the Gaillard Performance Hall in Charleston, S.C. from September 11-13, 2017. The first trade conference was held in 1974 at the Mills House Hotel in downtown Charleston. Speakers have included governors and chief executives for major companies. 

Governor’s Opportunity Zones Summit

Led by Governor McMaster and in partnership with the Office of US Senator Tim Scott and the Council of Development Finance Agencies (CDFA), the state of South Carolina will present the Governor’s Opportunity Zones Summit on January 25, 2019.

Hosted at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center, the one-day Summit will feature industry experts, providing the most up-to-date, innovative thinking for business and community leaders to maximize the positive impact of Opportunity Zones.

2019 Rural Summit

For the first time in its 29 year history, the South Carolina Rural Summit will be held in Orangeburg County. Roquemore Auditorium, on the campus of Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College, will be the site for the March 4 and 5 Summit. Orangeburg County is rolling out the red carpet to welcome you and other leaders throughout South Carolina.

METS Trade Show

The SC Department of Commerce, in conjunction with the National Marine Manufacturers Association, will be exhibiting in the U.S.A. pavilion at the Marine Equipment Trade Show (METS). METS is one of the biggest and best-attended, business-to-business marine equipment shows in the world. 

Participating companies will have the opportunity to interact with yacht and boat builders, naval architects, repair yards, distributors, captains, marina developers and equipment manufacturers, representing more than 110 countries.

2019 South Carolina Manufacturing Conference and Expo

The South Carolina Department of Commerce, SC Biz News, SC Manufacturing Extension Partnership and SC Aerospace are pleased to host the 2019 South Carolina Manufacturing Conference and Expo on October 29, 2019 in North Charleston, South Carolina. The conference will include B2B Supplier Networking.

International Documentation Training

This program, hosted by the South Carolina District Export Council, South Carolina Department of Commerce, Allocca Enterprises, Inc. and U.S. Commercial Service, will help you understand when and how you should fill out international documents such as commercial invoices, packing lists, EEI's, certificates of origin and others. Knowing how to properly fill out these documents prevents shipment delays, customs audits, charges and other issues. 

Launch & Learn: Intro to SBIR/STTR Grants

Learn the aspects of writing a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) grant by attending this upcoming 3Phase workshop. Attendees will learn about the history of these grants, as well as eligibility requirements, funding sources and agency differences. 

Aimed at informing participants about what reviewers look for when reviewing grant applications, the workshop is designed for more than just entreprenuers. It's designed for the entire small business community. 

South Carolina Recycling Industry Forum

The 2019 South Carolina Recycling Industry Forum will provide an oppotunity for attendees to find markets for hard-to-recycle materials, hear recycling market updates across various commodities and connect with recycling industry experts and professionals, as well as other manufacturers working to increase recycling.
