Recycling: US Fibers Recognized
At this year’s Industry Appreciation event, held last week in Columbia, S.C., US Fibers was selected to receive the Recycling Industry Excellence Award, which recognizes businesses for innovation and leadership in recycling. A manufacturer of recycled polyester fiber, US Fibers serves a wide range of industries, including automotive, filtration, construction, non-woven, home furnishings and geo-textile.
Recycling: Food Waste Reduction Campaign Grows
Each year, South Carolina produces approximately 600,000 tons of food waste. In fact, unused food is the number one item thrown away in the state; as, annually, an average family of four wastes $1,500 on discarded food. To combat this, many organizations across South Carolina are collaborating to implement a Don’t Waste Food S.C. campaign.

Last week, while the eyes of the world were on the picturesque green at Hilton Head Island’s Harbor Town Link Golf course, members of S.C. Commerce’s Recycling Market Development team were focused on a different type of green – RBC Heritage’s eco-friendly and sustainability initiatives.
