As we close the book on the first quarter of 2018, it's clear that Team South Carolina continues to build on the momentum developed over the last few years. Since January 1, we've announced more than 30 projects in 18 different counties, bringing thousands of new jobs and significant investments to the state. Our rural areas, specifically, have experienced a strong start to 2018. Accounting for more than 850 new jobs and approximately $400 million in capital investment, 12 of the 30 projects we've announced this year are located in one of our tier three or four counties.
Moving forward, as we aim to sustain this success and finish 2018 strong, continued collaboration and teamwork will be critical. By working together to set the table for future economic development, we'll be able to ensure prosperity in all corners of this state for years to come.
