Although we are in the midst of another active hurricane season, some communities in the eastern corner of South Carolina are still recovering from last year’s Hurricane Matthew. To continue supporting our fellow citizens, Team South Carolina is taking ongoing measures to help them get back on their feet.
This past Tuesday, S.C. Commerce partnered with the S.C. Disaster Recovery Office and Horne LLP to host another subcontractor outreach event associated with the ongoing housing repair and replacement efforts for homes damaged during Hurricane Matthew. Taking place in Florence, S.C. and attracting more than 140 attendees, the event allowed eight general contractors an opportunity to meet one-on-one with subcontractors from across South Carolina specializing in rebuilding, remodeling, flooring and more.
With approximately 1,350 South Carolina homes still in need of rehabilitation, attendees gained information about the ongoing repair and replacement projects, learned about current and upcoming bid packages and met the construction management team.
