In order to further support South Carolina’s soaring aerospace sector, the fourth annual S.C. Aerospace Conference & Expo will be held August 29-31 in Columbia, S.C. As part of this year’s conference, S.C. Commerce will be collaborating with partners to host two key events – the 2017 Aerospace B2B Supplier Matchmaker and a South Carolina Defense Industry Diversification Workshop.
Kicking off the expo on Tuesday, August 29, the supplier matchmaker event will give tier two, three and four suppliers from South Carolina the opportunity to connect, one-on-one, with original equipment manufacturers (OEM) and tier one suppliers. Last year’s OEM and tier one participants included such companies as Boeing, Lockheed Martin and GKN Aerospace. Registration information can be found here.
The defense diversification workshop will be held on Thursday, August 31 and will feature expert presentations to benefit defense contractors in six key areas surrounding strategic diversification. The event is for either prime or sub-contractors to the Department of Defense (DOD) that have been impacted by sequestration and/or are now interested in developing more non-DOD business opportunities. To attend the workshop, register for either a two-day conference or one-day Thursday conference pass.
