As the Labor Day holiday approaches, it’s a time to reflect on the social and economic achievements of America’s workforce. With roots dating back to the late 19th century, the holiday recognizes the lasting impact workers have made to the nation’s strength and prosperity.

Throughout history, the American labor force has proven itself as one made up of grit, determination and resilience. This upcoming Labor Day, that resilience will be on full display.

Over the last 18 months, South Carolina – along with the nation’s – workforce have overcome adversity and grown more united in the face of uncertainty. In particular, South Carolina’s manufacturing sector displayed incredible resiliency during the coronavirus pandemic, banding together to lend a helping hand, ensure wellness and, ultimately, work toward regaining a sense of normalcy.

So, this Labor Day, honor the determination and resiliency that make up South Carolina’s workforce, while building a future that empowers all workers.
