Signode to create 130 jobs at new Lexington County facility

Packaging company to make $15 million investment in Chapin

COLUMBIA, S.C. - Signode, a leading manufacturer and distributor of protective packaging systems, today announced plans to locate a new facility in Lexington County. The $15 million investment is expected to create 130 jobs and represents an expansion of Signode's in-state presence. The company will reutilize an existing warehouse facility in Chapin, S.C., and produce a new product line for the packaging manufacturer. 

Part of the global company Premark Packaging LLC, Signode manufactures steel and plastic strapping, stretch firm and the application equipment and accessory products. With more than a century of experience, Signode's products are used worldwide to secure items such as cotton bales, newspapers, steel coils and corrugate cartons. 

The company will start to manufacture industrial packaging products in Chapin, adding 63 full-time positions with highly technical skills in the first phase. Interested applicants are encouraged to apply at www.sctechjobs.com
