COLUMBIA, S.C. – July 19, 2013 – DLS Retreading, a provider of truck tire retreading services, today announced that it has established a new operation in Lancaster County. The $2.5 million investment is expected to generate 53 new jobs over the next four years.

“We are excited about bringing our new operations in Lancaster County online. Our management team has many years of experience in the tire industry under its belt, and we look forward to serving our customers here. We appreciate the support we’ve received from state and local officials as we’ve moved this project forward,” said Dave Snyder, president and CEO of DLS Retreading.

DLS Retreading has opened a new manufacturing, warehousing, sales and service facility in Lancaster County, located at 9057 Northfield Drive. The company is a licensee of Continental Tire the Americas LLC’s ContiTread retreads for truck tires. In addition, the company will also offer new Continental and General brand truck tires, as well as mobile truck tire service. Initial operations have already begun at the facility.

“Today’s announcement not only shows that our business-friendly climate is attracting investment, but that companies know our state’s rural areas are great places to put down roots. We celebrate DLS Retreading’s decision to invest $2.5 million and create 53 new jobs in Lancaster County,” said Gov. Nikki Haley.

Since January 2011, South Carolina has recruited more than $5 billion in capital investment and more than 8,000 jobs in the automotive-related sector.

“South Carolina’s automotive sector continues to create jobs, and announcements like this one build on our reputation in the tire industry. DLS Retreading will create good-paying jobs that will have an impact in Lancaster County and beyond,” said Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt.

“Lancaster County is very happy to have DLS Retreading located in the Indian Land community. Their relationship with Continental Tire the Americas and their plans for this facility are great news. We look forward to working with the company to provide an outstanding workforce, training programs and assistance for many years to come. The company has been great to work with and we are excited about their decision to locate in Lancaster County,” said Lancaster County Council Chairman Larry McCullough.
