$2.5 million investment expected to create new jobs
COLUMBIA, S.C. – Diversified Plastics Inc., a maker of material handling containers and carts, today announced plans to expand its current manufacturing facility in Dillon County. The $2.5 million investment is expected to generate 15 new jobs.

Dillon County and South Carolina have always provided us with an excellent business climate and skilled workforce and we greatly appreciate all the support we’ve received from state and local officials.”
DPI has upgraded its rotational molding facility, located at 1309 S.C. Hwy 917 West, in Latta, S.C. over the past couple of years and the company plans to further expand its operations. The expansion will allow DPI to increase the capacity of its facilities and will also involve adding new tooling for an additional product line.
“Today’s announcement is another win for one of South Carolina’s rural areas. We celebrate Diversified Plastics’ decision to invest $2.5 million and create new jobs in Latta,” said Gov. Nikki Haley.
Last year, South Carolina recruited more than $4.7 billion in investment and more than 13,000 new jobs in the manufacturing sector.
“Diversified Plastics has been a part of the state’s business community for more than three decades. Today’s announcement confirms the company’s commitment to our state and provides another boost to South Carolina’s manufacturing renaissance,” said Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt.
“For many years Diversified Plastics has been a thriving part of this community. With this expansion and the creation of a larger workforce, we look forward to years of continued prosperity,” said Latta Mayor Nancy Brigman.

The company will begin hiring as new equipment is installed.
