Ascend Performance Materials expanding Greenwood County operations

Chemical provider investing $3.8 million to accommodate continued growth

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Ascend Performance Materials (Ascend), a global provider of high-quality fibers, chemicals and plastics, is expanding its Greenwood County operations. To accommodate its continued growth, the company is projected to invest $3.8 million and create 20 new jobs.

With five manufacturing plants in the southeastern United States and more than 3,200 employees around the world, Ascend manufactures a variety of compounds, including fibers, intermediate chemicals, resins and more. The company supplies a wide range of industries and applications.

Located at 1515 Highway 246 South in Greenwood, S.C., Ascend plans to increase polymer production at its Greenwood facility. Hiring for the new positions is projected to begin in the first quarter of 2017, and interested applicants should visit the company’s careers page online.
