Nucor Corporation (Nucor), one of the largest manufacturers of steel and steel products in North America, today announced plans to expand operations in Berkeley County. The company is investing $200 million over the next five years.
With roots dating back to 1905, Nucor manufactures a variety of products including carbon and alloy steel; hollow structural tubing; electrical conduit; precision castings; and more. The company’s products serve the agriculture, automotive and energy industries along with various others.
Yanfeng expanding operations in Laurens County
Yanfeng, a leading global automotive supplier, today announced the expansion of its operations in Laurens County. The company’s investment of $49.6 million will create approximately 58 new jobs over the next five years.

Kontrolmatik Technologies, via its subsidiary Pomega Energy Storage Technologies, today announced plans to build a 3 gigawatt-hour (GWh) capacity lithium-ion battery factory in Colleton County. The company’s $279 million investment will create approximately 575 new jobs.

BMW investing $1.7 billion to expand S.C. manufacturing capacity and footprint
The BMW Group continues the roll-out of its electromobility plan with a new investment to expand Plant Spartanburg and the company’s manufacturing footprint in South Carolina. BMW Group Chairman of the Board of Management, Oliver Zipse, announced today a $1.7 billion investment in its United States operations, including $1 billion to prepare for the production of electric vehicles at Plant Spartanburg, and $700 million to build a new high-voltage battery assembly facility in nearby Woodruff, S.C.
