Relentless Challenge grant program information session

The SC Commerce Office of Innovation’s Relentless Challenge is a statewide competitive grant program that helps fund projects focused on fostering the relentless pursuit of transformational ideas, specifically in the areas of high growth entrepreneurship, talent development and access to capital. The Office of Innovation will host regularly scheduled virtual information sessions that will detail grant requirements, eligibility, how to apply and much more. 

SCFUSA Webinar: Get to know Dr. Marcel Schäfer

Meet the newest member of the South Carolina Fraunhofer USA Alliance (SCFUSA)! Dr. Marcel Schäfer serves as Senior Program Coordinator and Senior Research Scientist.

He will work directly with S.C. companies that are interested in accessing SCFUSA funding to conduct research, solve problems or improve efficiencies.

SBIR/STTR grant webinar series

As part of its 3Phase initiative, the S.C. Commerce Office of Innovation is launching a workshop series aimed at educating S.C. businesses on how to write grant applications for Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) grants. 

SC Fraunhofer USA Alliance: Fraunhofer Center Roundtable

Hear from three different Fraunhofer Centers and learn more about the projects and innovations they are currently focused on, projects they aim to take on in the future and how your company can get connected. The panel will take place on Thursday, November 12 at 11 a.m., and will be moderated by SC Fraunhofer USA Alliance Director Suzanne Dickerson. The centers represented are:

Small Business Innovation Research Funding Webinar

The SC Commerce Office of Innovation and 3Phase invite small businesses to take part in an SBIR Funding Webinar on Wednesday, April 15 at 10 a.m. 

Learn the aspects of writing Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) grants including: eligibility, sources of funding and agency differences, understanding what reviewers look for and step-by-step writing instructions.

The South Carolina Department of Commerce's Office of Innovation is launching a Toolkit Talk series, celebrating innovators across South Carolina. The interactive series, which is part of the Scribble online resource, provides opportunities for idea sharing and collaboration between innovators of all industry sectors and experience levels.

The Charleston toolkit talk will be held at BoomTown from 5:30 to 7:30.

The South Carolina Department of Commerce's Office of Innovation is launching a Toolkit Talk series, celebrating innovators across South Carolina. The interactive series, which is part of the Scribble online resource, provides opportunities for idea sharing and collaboration between innovators of all industry sectors and experience levels.

The series Greenville Toolkit Talk will take place at Serendipity Labs from 5:30 to 7:30.

The South Carolina Department of Commerce's Office of Innovation is launching a Toolkit Talk series, celebrating innovators across South Carolina. The interactive series, which is part of the Scribble online resource, provides opportunities for idea sharing and collaboration between innovators of all industry sectors and experience levels.

The series will premier with an invitation-only talk, hosted by Lieutenant Governor Pamela Evette, on February 4th in Columbia, with a networking event open to the public to follow at SOCO on Bull Street from 5:30 to 7:30.

Sketch Room: Relentless Challenge Grant Series

The Relentless Challenge grant series is taking the spotlight for our next Sketch Room session. This event, to be hosted at Hammond School in Columbia, SC, is for organizations that believe they have solutions for access to capital, talent development or entrepreneurship. Past receipients with successful projects will be onsite to present their experience, while allowing attendees to share their prospective ideas for feedback across the innovation community.

Launch & Learn: Intro to SBIR/STTR Grants

Learn the aspects of writing a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) grant by attending this upcoming 3Phase workshop. Attendees will learn about the history of these grants, as well as eligibility requirements, funding sources and agency differences. 

Aimed at informing participants about what reviewers look for when reviewing grant applications, the workshop is designed for more than just entreprenuers. It's designed for the entire small business community.
