This week, thousands traveled across the Palmetto State, gathering with friends and family to celebrate the birth of our nation. More than just an annual occurrence, however, a patriotic spirit can be felt in South Carolina year-round, which may explain why our state was recently ranked among the most patriotic states in America. We take pride in our country; and, from an economic development perspective, we take pride in the role we play in advancing its economy.
With manufacturing employment growth of approximately 17 percent since 2011, South Carolina has been a major player in the resurgence of manufacturing in the United States, helping to advance the all-important “Made in USA” label. So, moving forward, as we continue to make top-quality products within our borders, not only will we be helping to bring prosperity and recognition to South Carolina, we'll also be helping to drive the country's economy forward -- and, that's something we can all take pride in.
