Commerce Communications: Cultivating business relationships among S.C. companies

As the state’s lead economic development agency, the South Carolina Department of Commerce is tasked with more than just recruiting new companies to the Palmetto State. From export assistance and workforce consultation to data and research services and much more, Team S.C. is dedicated to supporting the state’s existing industry – small and large. And, one of the most important resources available to companies is the agency’s Supplier Outreach program.

Through this program, newly announced projects or expansions have access to initial supplier support to help identify in-state suppliers. That support is complemented by SourceSC, the online material and service locator database – with more than 6,500 suppliers and vendors – that overlays specific company capabilities with supply chain requirements. This searchable tool is a convenient way to procure locally developed materials and identify service providers.

The program also helps connect South Carolina companies through a multitude of networking opportunities, including supplier matchmakers like the one earlier this year at the S.C. Automotive Summit, subcontractor outreach events and more.

As South Carolina’s economy continues to expand, so do the opportunities for existing Palmetto State companies. And, Team S.C. is committed to doing all it can to bring business to business.
