On December 5-6, Greenville will once again host the annual VentureSouth Summit, bringing VentureSouth’s investor membership together for two days of education and networking. This year, through a partnership with Venture Carolina, the S.C. Department of Commerce and the South Carolina Research Authority (SCRA), the organization has expanded its entrepreneurship education being offered at the summit.
The summit will provide five workshops designed for both early stage entrepreneurs and investors:
- How to Pitch to Angel Investors will equip entrepreneurs with the fundamental skills needed to raise money from angel investors.
- Preparing for Due Diligence will explain what an investor “due diligence” process entails, how to complete it and how it impacts your ability to secure funding.
- Sales for Entrepreneurs will teach entrepreneurs proper sales mechanics and how to set up a sustainable sales engine.
- Wealth and Tax Planning for Entrepreneurs will review the key tax issues and wealth planning associated with entrepreneurship.
- Understanding Capitalization Tables is VentureSouth’s and Venture Carolina’s flagship educational workshop. The curriculum will be delivered by nationally-renowned angel educator and VentureSouth Managing Director Matt Dunbar. This workshop will take a deep dive into the intricacies associated with capitalization tables and how they impact outcomes for both parties.
