Hardee Greens LLC, a startup indoor, vertical farm company, today announced plans to establish operations in Jasper County. The company’s $1.3 million investment will create 58 new jobs.

Established by South Carolina natives, Hardee Greens LLC will grow fresh herbs and salad greens. The company is partnering with Local Grown Salads, which will supply the materials for Hardee Greens LLC to grow pesticide-free, fresh herbs and greens every 30 days.

Europastry, a global leader in baked goods, today announced plans to establish operations in Laurens County. The company’s $23 million investment will create 155 new jobs.

Headquartered in Spain, Europastry specializes in high-quality bakery products, delivering pastries and baked goods to wholesalers around the globe. The company serves more than 80 countries worldwide.

Located in Hunter Industrial Park in Laurens, Europastry’s facility will produce an assortment of brioche bread products.

City Roots, a family-owned urban farm and agribusiness destination, today announced plans to expand operations in Richland County. The company’s $4.4 million investment will create 60 new jobs over the next five years.

Carolina Precision Foods, LLC – a joint venture of Carolina Fresh Foods and owners of Lake Foods – today announced plans to establish operations in Florence County. The company’s $10 million investment will create 402 new jobs.

Carolina Precision Foods, LLC is a poultry further processing company that specializes in deboning, portioning, marination, custom further processing and mechanically separating food.  

Gehl Foods, LLC (Gehl Food & Beverage Companies), a leading food and beverage manufacturing company, today announced it has established operations in Colleton County. The company’s $46 million investment is creating 106 new jobs.

Founded in 1896, Gehl Food & Beverage Companies is a market-leading producer of dairy-based and dairy alternative shelf-stable beverages, cheese sauces, soups, broths, teas, wine and spirits and much more.  

Concentrated Active Ingredients & Flavors, Inc. (CAIF), a supplier of innovative naturally sourced ingredients, today announced its plans to establish operations in Lexington County. The $5 million investment will create 20 new jobs.
