COLUMBIA, S.C. – Portland Bolt & Manufacturing Company (Portland Bolt), a fastener and bolt manufacturer, today announced it is expanding its operations in Edgefield County. The company’s $4.3 million investment will create 21 new jobs.
Founded in Oregon in 1912, Portland Bolt manufactures nonstandard anchor bolts and construction fasteners. The company acquired its North Augusta manufacturing facility from Southern Anchor Bolt in June 2024, allowing it to effectively reach East Coast customers.
Koops Automation Systems expands Greenville County operations
COLUMBIA, S.C. – Koops Automation Systems (Koops), a provider of custom automation equipment, today announced it is expanding its operations in Greenville County. The company’s $10.2 million investment will create 26 new jobs.
Headquartered in Michigan, Koops designs, builds, and integrates innovative special machines and automated equipment. The company offers solutions for manufacturers in various industries including automotive, life sciences and construction.
Bondex expands Edgefield County operations
COLUMBIA, S.C. – Bondex, a leader in technical nonwoven manufacturing, today announced it is expanding its Edgefield County operations. The company’s $18.8 million investment will create 13 new jobs.
Part of Andrew Industries Limited, Bondex is an innovative nonwovens and specialty roll goods manufacturer founded in 1997. The company’s products serve growing demand across various markets, including filtration, automotive, laundry felt and more, for customers globally.

US Brick expands Richland County operations
COLUMBIA, S.C. – US Brick, a closely held manufacturer and direct supplier of residential and commercial brick, today announced it is expanding its Richland County operations. The company’s $5.5 million investment will create 33 new jobs.
Founded as Carolina Ceramics in Columbia in 1939, the company became US Brick when it was acquired in 2020. Now headquartered in Charleston, US Brick has the capacity to produce 350 million bricks annually across its manufacturing facilities in South Carolina, Alabama, Indiana and Tennessee.
Carbotech Group selects Spartanburg County to establish first South Carolina operation
COLUMBIA, S.C. – Carbotech Group (Carbotech), an equipment manufacturer for the sawmill industry, today announced it selects Spartanburg County to establish the company’s first South Carolina operation. The $3.4 million investment will create 35 new jobs.
