Baxter Manufacturing expands Oconee County operations

COLUMBIA, S.C.Baxter Manufacturing, a supplier for the plastics industry, today announced it is expanding its operations in Oconee County. The company’s $15.7 million investment will create 36 new jobs.

With more than 40 years of experience, Baxter Manufacturing is a family-owned, full-service supplier to the plastics industry. The company’s Oconee County operation, established in 2017, is a Tier 1 supplier of manufactured plastic injection-molded automotive parts.

AGY expands Aiken County operations

COLUMBIA, S.C.AGY, a manufacturer of specialty glass fibers, today announced it is expanding its operations in Aiken County. The company’s $12.1 million investment will create 80 new jobs.

AGY is a leading innovator and manufacturer of specialty glass fiber reinforcements, enabling high-performance composite solutions for aviation, defense, electronics, architecture and telecommunications applications that are integral to civilian life and critical to the national security supply chain.

First Solar, Inc. grows South Carolina footprint with new Cherokee County facility

COLUMBIA, S.C.First Solar, Inc., (First Solar) a leading American photovoltaic (PV) solar and manufacturing company, today announced it is growing its South Carolina footprint with a new production facility in Cherokee County. The company expects to spend approximately $330 million to establish the new facility, which is forecast to create over 600 new jobs.

Ulbrich Specialty Wire Products expands Oconee County operations

COLUMBIA, S.C.Ulbrich Specialty Wire Products (Ulbrich), a leading manufacturer of wire solutions, today announced it is expanding its operations in Oconee County. The company’s $5 million investment will create 15 new jobs.

Ulbrich is a leading manufacturer of precision-engineered wire solutions for high-performance industries. The Westminster facility specializes in the rolling, drawing, annealing, straightening, and precision winding of a variety of round, flat and square wire products.

QMP, Inc. selects Colleton County for first East Coast manufacturing operation

COLUMBIA, S.C. QMP, Inc. (QMP), a water filtration systems manufacturer, today announced it selects Colleton County to establish the company’s first East Coast manufacturing operation. The $5.1 million investment will create 233 new jobs.

Headquartered in California, QMP has more than 30 years of experience producing water filtration systems for a variety of applications, including for residential, commercial and industrial uses.

Meiden America Switchgear, Inc. expanding Laurens County operations

COLUMBIA, S.C.Meiden America Switchgear, Inc. (MAS), a pioneer in high-performance vacuum technology, today announced it is expanding its operations in Laurens County. The company’s $9.2 million investment will create 43 new jobs. 

Founded in 2020 and headquartered in Gray Court, MAS designs, manufactures, tests and sells high-voltage vacuum circuit breakers and vacuum interrupters.

Keel expanding Charleston County operations

COLUMBIA, S.C.Keel, a defense manufacturer, today announced it is expanding its operations in Charleston County. The company’s $67 million investment will create 170 new jobs at Keel’s Yonges Island shipyard.

Headquartered in Ladson, Keel is an advanced manufacturer of submarine modules and components, aircraft carrier components, and other complex structures for the U.S. Navy and broader defense industry.
