Agribusiness company creating 50 new jobs
COLUMBIA, S.C. – US-Stevia, LLC announced today that it is establishing new agribusiness operations in Chesterfield County. The company’s $21 million investment is projected to create 50 new jobs.
US-Stevia and its partners will grow, extract and sell stevia, a natural, no-calorie sweetener solution. The company’s vertically-integrated approach includes a unique, natural extraction and purification process, as well as direct, hands-on involvement in every step of the supply chain, from seed and crop production to the finished product.
Located at 70 Carolinas Centre Lane South in Cheraw, S.C., US-Stevia’s Chesterfield County operations are projected to come online by the fourth quarter of 2018. The Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved job development credits, as well as a $100,000 Rural Infrastructure Fund grant to Chesterfield County to assist with the cost of building improvements.
