Central Wire, Inc. expanding Lancaster County plant

Specialty wire manufacturer investing $2 million in facility expansion

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Central Wire, Inc. (CWI), a stainless and specialty alloy wire manufacturer, is expanding its Lancaster County wire operation. The expansion is expected to bring $2 million in new capital investment and create 18 new jobs.

Established in 1955 and headquartered in Perth, Ontario, CWI manufactures and distributes stainless, nickel and specialty alloy wire, as well as engineered cable assemblies. The company maintains 11 manufacturing and distribution facilities throughout the U.S., U.K. and Canada, and provides a broad range of innovative wire products and cable assembly solutions.

With 32 people currently employed at this location, CWI will be adding two state-of-the-art welding wire manufacturing lines at its Lancaster facility, which is located at 1552 Cedar Pines Lake Road. The new lines will allow for stainless, nickel and copper alloy welding wire in multiple packaging configurations. Work on the expansion is projected to begin in January 2017 and is expected to be completed by the end of the first quarter of 2017.
