Director of Small Business Supplier Outreach and Rural Development

Maceo Nance is a South Carolina Certified Economic Developer who currently serves as the director of the Small Business Supplier Outreach and Rural Development Division of the SC Department of Commerce. This division focuses its efforts on a small business supplier development, rural and community development enhancements, recycling development and existing industry support.

Prior to his most recent assignment, Maceo served as director of Community and Rural Planning & Development. He was responsible for the development and implementation of programs to improve the competitiveness of rural South Carolina for job creation and new investment. He is actively involved in evaluating, planning, and developing strategies to enhance South Carolina's economic, small business and community development efforts and is a member of the South Carolina Economic Developers Association (SCEDA).

Maceo holds a bachelor’s degree from Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA. He is also a graduate of Georgia Tech's Basic Economic Developers Course, the Economic Development Institute at the University of Oklahoma and the South Carolina Economic Developers’ Advanced Symposium.

Maceo is a native of Orangeburg, South Carolina. He and his wife Toni have three children, Kevin, Michelle and Kimberly, and five grandchildren.
