SC Rural Summit

For 18 years, the South Carolina Rural Summit has been devoted to the rural development of South Carolina. This conference will bring together policy makers, community development leaders, economic development professionals and a host of others to share ideas, expertise and experience for improving communities throughout our state.

“A Year of Firsts” was the theme of the 2008 Rural Summit, which was held March 2-4 at the Conference Center & Inn in Clemson, S. C. For the first time in Summit history, the conference was held in the beautiful upstate of S.C.  Also a first, the official program began with a Sunday evening welcome reception held in the exclusive West End Zone at Memorial Stadium, home of the Clemson University Tigers.  Conference attendees also enjoyed off-site educational sessions at Clemson’s International Center for Automotive Research (ICAR) in Greenville, the World of Energy located at the Oconee Nuclear Station and a rolling classroom through a portion of the S.C. National Heritage Corridor.
