SC Economic Developers' Advanced Symposium
The South Carolina Economic Developers’ Advanced Symposium is a partnership of the South Carolina Department of Commerce, the South Carolina Economic Developers’ Association and the School of Business and Economics at the College of Charleston. This five-day course is designed to provide an advanced education experience in theory and practice of economic development.
All course study is offered once a year and is held at the College of Charleston's Tate Center for Entrepreneurship. Professional economic developers must have five years of full-time experience or three years with graduation from the Economic Development Institute to be eligible. Graduates of the program earn the “South Carolina Certified Economic Developer” designation, must recertify every two years and must maintain an active membership in the South Carolina Economic Developers' Association.
