Investment expected to create 71 new jobs

COLUMBIA, S.C. – August 18, 2010 – The South Carolina Department of Commerce and Dorchester County today announced that Maverick Equipment Manufacturing Inc., a maker of hydraulic hammers and components, will locate its new facility in Dorchester County. The $1.5 million investment is expected to generate 71 new jobs over the next five years for South Carolina.

“We are excited about this new facility and look forward to starting operations at our new manufacturing facility. Dorchester County offers us an excellent business environment and exceptional market access. We appreciate all the support we have received from state and local officials. The state of South Carolina and Dorchester County have provided unparalleled assistance and resources, which ultimately influenced our decision to locate here,” said Sean Raimbeault, president of Maverick Equipment Manufacturing.

Maverick Equipment Manufacturing will locate its hydraulic hammers and parts operation in Dorchester County, at 2745 West Fifth North Street in Summerville. The company’s sales office has already relocated to the new facility and is servicing clients.
