Department of Commerce, Aiken Technical College Offer Small Business Marketing Workshop
Mar52010
COLUMBIA, S.C. – March 5, 2010 – The South Carolina Department of Commerce and Aiken Technical College will host a free marketing workshop for small businesses March 10 at the Aiken Technical College Amphitheater. The workshop will offer business owners practical knowledge on how to better market their products or services, including tips on developing an effective marketing plan.
This workshop is part of an ongoing partnership with the South Carolina Technical College System to sponsor regional workshops for small businesses and entrepreneurs. Co-sponsors include Aiken Chamber of Commerce, Lower Savannah Council of Governments, Midland Valley Chamber of Commerce and North Augusta Chamber of Commerce.
In a recent small business survey conducted by the South Carolina Department of Commerce, marketing was one of the areas of great interest for the small business community. Representatives from ADCO, a full-service marketing firm in Columbia, will speak at the Aiken Tech program. They will cover company branding, marketing strategies, public relations and new media tactics.
Similar programs have been held at other technical colleges this past year, with excellent response from the participants.
Seating for the workshops is limited. For more information on the workshops and the registration process, contact Ted Campbell at the South Carolina Department of Commerce, TCampbell@SCcommerce.com or (803) 737-2329.
